Rooted in Family.
Built for Community.
The Jennings Family Legacy Foundation was born from a simple belief: that every deserving student in Atlanta should have the opportunity to attend a world-class HBCU — regardless of financial circumstance.
A Legacy Worth Honoring
The Jennings Family Legacy Foundation was established to honor the life and values of James Jennings Jr. — a man whose commitment to education, community, and family left an indelible mark on everyone he touched. His belief that education was the great equalizer became the foundation's north star.
What began as a family's tribute has grown into a thriving organization that is partnered with Morehouse College and Spelman College, and invested directly in Atlanta Public Schools classrooms. The inaugural $1,867 James Jennings Jr. Scholarship — awarded in 2025 to Amir, an exceptional scholar entering Morehouse — marked a milestone in turning legacy into lasting impact.
"The $1,867 figure honors the founding year of Morehouse College — a number that carries the weight of history and the promise of the future."
